Sorry - I am totally new to this, but I am wondering if a 20" x 20" piece of diaper cut fabric is large enough for this? I am trying to start small, to make sure I can do it, before jumping in whole hog! : )

You do not trim the wings at all, and the snaps probably will be a bit closer.

OK, I'm making some NB and S size Snug Wrap Side Snapping covers and am still confused about the wing length and snap placement of them. Do I trim the wings at all? Are the snaps to be closer together than on the M tutorial?

Thanks,
Rebecca O.

I am so grateful for this tutorial. I have fallen in love with fleece wraps with prefold soakers. So much so that I run out of prefolds before I run out of contours. I use them with and without covers. Anyway, when my son started squirming, snappis became a headache so I decided to try snaps. Placement by trial and error takes a lot of snaps and covers for that matter. With this tutorial I was able to throw out my homemade fleece pattern and just run with what you did. I do my fleeces just a little different. I use regular elastic instead of FOE and cover it with fleece. Originally, the regular elastic was just what I had on hand, I did one cover with the FOE and no fleece cover and found that the elastic with the cover makes for better blowout containment. Now that I got all of that out, my snap placement on the front is going to be a little different, I think. I see what you mean about making sure to place the snaps low enough on the wings to avoid gaps, I believe these are a little high. Please excuse my pitiful first attempt (snaps a bit uneven.) but does anyone have a suggestion for snap placement of the front panel? I was going to take a picture of the pattern and indicate where I tried to put them but I am not as computer savvy as Jessica. I don't know how to make those measurement markings show up on a picture.

Thanks so much for the quick response. A friend and I are going to attempt these snap wraps this week and I wanted to get all of the info I could. We are both SAHM so I wanted to make sure there I wasn't using a lot of PUL (expensive) for cosmetics.

Ah, yes. Okay - you don't need to use two layers of PUL but some like to just to hide the shiny laminate inside. Jessica probably used two in this tutorial due to her embroidery on the outside layer.

She is probably referring to this statement.

"Here I have cut and serged together my two layers of PUL and marked my elastic anchor points."

The PUL isn't double layered, can you clarify what you're referring to?

Is there a reason to double layer the PUL?
