Hi,

I am looking at getting a snap press for diapers and baby clothes (expecting our first in January), but I am also a historical costumer and being able to do double duty as a grommet press would be very, very helpful.  Does anyone know if there are #00 size grommet dies made for the VB press somewhere?

There are - you need to call http://www.daveytextiles.com/ and ask them about their grommet dies.  You'll need a 3/8" shank on your top dies, top and bottom.

For anyone who does this besides me please be aware that these dies will cost you more than the press and snap dies from VB put together.  They cost $168, which I didn't know before they charged me for them, which was a very nasty suprise.  When I had looked for grommet dies elsewhere they were $20-$30, so I assumed that they would be comperable.  I just learned the hard way to always ask.....

Oh sheesh, man, that's too bad.  I know they carry the same press we do and sell it at an insane price, but I assumed the dies were more reasonable!

Looking at most of the other places that had dies, they were about the $50-$70 range (my previous estimate of $20-$30 must have been from something else), so I assumed that they would be the same, but wow.  When I called this morning, they also said that their press is $250!  I am so very happy that my press from you will be here tomorrow and much, much less!!

If you find somewhere that offers compatible grommet dies that'll fit our press let me know where as I get asked for that periodically & would love to be able to point people in the not so expensive direction!
