sew your own diapers

Does anyone besides me have problems with touchtape and aplix not lasting?  I'll use it and it's great when the diapers are new then within a few months, it doesn't stick anymore.  there isn't fuzz or anything in it causing the problem.  I have had to put new touchtape on some covers I had made that were only used for a couple of months and now, after about 2 months they are already not fully sticking.  Any ideas?  I have decided it works best for me to use only snpas but sometimes it's still nice to have touchtape or aplix.
