Pic heavy tutorial?
« on: April 23, 2010, 05:15:14 PM »

Hey everyone. I'm new. Anyway, the first diaper I ever made was the Little Comet Tails Hipster. I ended up really disliking the product, and then bought the very baby fitted pattern. Anyway, the reason I chose the little comet tails pattern at first was because I am new to sewing and I am a VERY visual learner.

I made my first VB NB fitted (turned and top stitched) and its pretty bad. I did my best with the directions given... but they just are not good enough for me.

Does anyone know where I can find a very picture heavy tutorial for the very baby fitted for turning and top stitching?

I wish I had a serger... those directions are much easier. Ugg.

the vb fitted was the first diaper i made and the first thing i had sewn in 20 years blush  my first few weren't pretty, but useable.  where in the direction do you think you need help?? perhaps we can all make suggestions. i don't have any pictures of diapers in all the stages of being made, so i can't help here.

Hi Addy, I could probably put one together for you, it'll be a week or two though as I'm working on revising the patterns at the moment.

It mostly takes practice though. Did your diaper turn out but is just a bit wobbly/crookedly sewn?  If so that's really very typical and what most of ours looked like when we started out, you just have to keep making them and you'll get better at it.  Smiley
