Product Description
This versatile pattern has something for everyone; you can create a turned and topstitched fitted cloth diaper or a serged edge cloth diaper with front or side closing snaps, or front or side closing hook and loop. The soaker pads are external to create a diaper that dries in one dryer cycle without compromising absorbency.
The pattern can also be used to create effective night time diapers, diaper covers, and more using our free, bonus instructions at our weblog.
This pattern comes with four different pattern pieces to make the following sizes:
XS/Newborn: birth - 12lbs
Small: 10lbs - 16lbs
Medium: 15lbs - 25lbs
Large: 22lbs - 40lbs
The yardages below are estimates to help you sew fitted cloth diapers with quick dry soakers from the pattern as directed.

| Outer Diaper Body Layer |
Fashion print fabric such as: 100% cotton knit fabric (like t-shirt material). Woven (not stretchy) fabrics may also be used, but can reduce the range of sizes the diaper will fit. You may lengthen the wings by 1 - 2 inches on both sides to safely use a woven print without reducing the weight range. |
5/8 yard of 60" wide fashion print will yield 2 outer body layers. |
3 5/8 yard of 60" wide fashion print will yield 12 outer body layers. |
| Absorbent Inner Diaper Body Layers |
Stretchy, absorbent fabric such as: sherpa knit terry or stretch terries, hemp jersey, or hemp stretch terry. Less stretchy fabrics such as cotton french terry, hemp french terry, hemp fleece, flannels, or woven terry toweling may also be used, but again - these fabrics may also reduce the weight range the diaper will fit unless you lengthen the wings a bit. |
3/4 yard 60" wide absorbent fabric for two full body layers and four layers of the soaker pad. |
9 yards of 60" wide absorbent fabric will yield 12 large diapers, their soaker pads, and boosters. |
| Soaker Pad and Booster/Doubler |
The soaker pad has 4 layers of absorbent fabric, stretch is not important in the soaker pad. We recommend using sherpa knit terry, hemp french terry, or hemp fleece. If you use thicker fabrics such as thick terry toweling, you may want only 3 layers in your soaker pad for ease of sewing. Thinner fabrics may be used in the soaker pad such as flannel or birdseye, but you should double the recommended layers. The Booster can be made out of the same or similar fabric you choose for the soaker pad. Use 3 layers for thicker fabrics, but use 6 if using flannel or birdseye. |

Machines and Methods
Very Baby Diapers come with directions to turn and topstitch or sew using a serger. If using a serger, some steps will be completed on a regular sewing machine.
