PooPockets! One Size Cloth Diaper Pattern by New Conceptions
Product DescriptionThe PooPockets One-Size Diaper Pattern fits babies 7 - 30 + pounds. The pattern also includes the Tiny PooPockets pattern which fits preemies and tiny newborns from 4 - 10 + pounds. This pattern contains the innovative Fold and Stitch soaker pad construction method that speeds the cutting and sewing process. The pattern also includes patterns for a contoured doubler or pocket diaper stuffer, and two doubler styles. Both regular PooPockets and Tiny PooPockets have unique gussets to contain messes.
PooPockets are meant to be used with a water-proof cover or wrap. There are no fasteners on PooPockets so that you will be able to fold them to fit your baby best. However, snaps, snap tape, ties, or hook & loop tape can be added according to your individual needs. The tabs on PooPockets are extra large for the ease of families using pins and for large babies and toddlers. I get a lot of questions about how the regular PooPockets diaper fits on small babies. Made from all diaper flannel, I found that they fit very well on both newborns and toddlers. Tip: We've found sewing the gussets from a stretchy fabric like microfleece helps make the gussets easier to sew. ![]() ![]() Fabric and Yardage Requirements
PooPockets! One Size Cloth Diaper Pattern is a one-size-fits-all cloth diaper pattern with leg gussets. It can be used to make a fitted pocket style cloth diaper. The yardages below are estimates to help you sew PooPockets one size diapers from the pattern as directed. Fabric Required
Note: Yardage is for Pre-shrunk fabric! PooPockets : Tiny Poopockets: 1/2 yard. Contour Doubler/Pocket Stuffer: P/Sm: 3/8 Yard, Sm/M & M/L: 1/2 Yard Standard Doubler & Fold-to-Fit Doubler: 1/4 to 1/3 yard. *HINT!* It is generally more fabric-efficient to cut several diapers at the same time. Due to variations in fabric widths, it's important to experiment with your own fabric to see what will be most efficient. It is possible to get 6 diapers out of 2 2/3 yds. of fabric that is 58" wide cut on a single layer. If there are 5 1/3 yds. of fabric and it's folded with the raw edges together, it's possible to get 12 diapers. Notions

100% cotton flannel, french terry, sherpa terry, knit (stretch) terry, terry toweling, Birdseye, diaper gauze or prefold twill, any soft soft and absorbent fabric. Knit terries should be at least 80% cotton. Machines and Methods
PooPockets! Diapers can be sewn with a serger or a regular sewing machine. Sergers tend to sew the fastest and finish the edges of the diapers neatly and durably. Regular sewing machines set to zigzag stitches or other overcast stitches can be used effectively to imitate sergers. Just a simple straight stitch done with a regular sewing machine and a method called "stitching and turning" or "topstitching" creates beautifully finished diapers. Helpful Hints
PooPockets! Diapers can be made in as many ways as there people who make them. PooPockets can be made entirely of one type of fabric or a mix, for instance, flannel for one diaper layer and knit terry for the other. Choice and combinations of fabrics are a personal preference. There are advantages and disadvantages to all choices. Some things to consider when choosing your fabric are: comfort, absorbency, durability, and drying time. |
